Where is the best place to treat a herniated disc? Find the root cause with an MRI.
If the intervertebral disc protrudes but doesn't compress a nerve, the patient will experience localized pain, such as pain in the lower back extending to the hip or the back of the thigh. However, if the intervertebral disc compresses a nerve, there will be leg pain along with numbness and weakness, especially in the foot and ankle. This usually occurs in only one leg.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis of a herniated disc involves using X-ray and MRI scans to assess the condition.
MRI is a highly effective diagnostic tool.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a medical tool used for diagnosing diseases at their root cause. It utilizes advanced technology and is currently the most effective technology available. MRI uses radio frequency waves to stimulate the organ being examined within a magnetic field. The stimulated tissue undergoes changes to a higher level. When the radio wave signal is stopped, the tissue releases energy in the form of radio signals, which are then converted into image signals. The resulting images are highly detailed and allow for accurate measurement of various organs.
MRI machines provide high-resolution images.
1.5 Tesla MRI technology, a high-level standard in spinal and joint diagnosis, provides high-resolution images capable of clearly visualizing tissues, nerves, intervertebral discs, and the spinal cord in all planes. It is ideal for diagnosing herniated discs, osteoarthritis, or spinal tumors, especially in cases where symptoms are unclear due to X-ray or other methods.
Preparation before an MRI scan.
An open MRI scan takes 20-40 minutes, depending on the area being examined. Patients do not need any prior preparation, except for abdominal scans, where fasting for at least 4 hours is recommended.

Contraindications for MRI examination.
Electronic devices such as credit cards, mobile phones, and metal objects are prohibited in the examination room.
Patients with pacemakers.
Patients with vascular clips, for example.

In addition to our excellent MRI machines that provide clear and accurate results, we also have specialist doctors who can accurately and precisely analyze the results to diagnose diseases and treat the root cause for sustainable recovery.
