Chronic Neck Pain: “I Just Want to Hold My Child”

cholthicha

“It hurts all the time. There’s not a single moment my body gets a break from the pain. I can’t even hold my own child.”

Chonthicha, a mother to a young child, has been living with chronic pain for years. What once seemed like a minor neck ache turned into a nightmare that consumed her both physically and emotionally. “Just holding my child... was almost impossible,” she recalled. The pain became a wall that separated her from precious moments with her child.

Her pain started around 7–8 years ago as occasional neck discomfort. Thinking it would go away on its own, she chose to endure it. But about a year ago, things took a turn for the worse. The pain became more intense, radiating up to her head and causing daily headaches.

“The pain started shooting down my left arm. It felt like a burning fire inside. I couldn’t even hold my child — my hand was completely numb. Even hugging my child for long was difficult,” she said, eyes filled with exhaustion as she recalled those painful days.

She began reflecting on her lifestyle and realized that long hours spent hunched over her phone might have contributed to the problem.

“My lifestyle probably played a role. I run an online business, so I spend hours on my phone in the same position. I didn’t realize it was damaging my cervical spine.”

Although she knew cervical degeneration was the cause, fear of surgery led her to try other treatments — medication, physical therapy, even chiropractic adjustments. But none of them provided lasting relief.

“I was terrified. Just hearing the word ‘surgery’ made me back off,” she admitted. Still, deep down, she knew she couldn’t live with the pain forever.

A New Life through Minimally Invasive Surgery

Determined not to give up, she began researching treatments and discovered S Spine Hospital. There, she learned about minimally invasive endoscopic surgery — a technique that had already helped many others. “When I found out it didn’t require a large incision, I felt so relieved... I wasn’t afraid anymore,” she said.

Technology That Transformed Her Life

Chonthicha decided to go ahead with the endoscopic procedure — and what happened next was beyond her expectations.

“When I woke up… the pain was just gone.” The chronic pain she had endured for years had vanished. Her arm was no longer numb — and most importantly, she could walk from day one.

“It feels like I’ve been given a new life. If I had known this treatment was so effective, I wouldn’t have endured all those years of pain.” She has now returned to her family life — and can finally hold her child without suffering.
