Testimonials

"This much money can buy our lives back. It's the most worthwhile investment."

Mr. Sumet

My experience with endoscopic surgical endoscopic (PSLD) treatment for herniated disc, by Mr. Sumet.

Mr. Sumet underwent Percutaneous Stenoscopic Lumbar Decompression (PSLD) surgery to treat a herniated disc caused by repeatedly lifting heavy objects incorrectly, resulting in spinal damage.

When he was around 30 years old, he experienced sudden back pain. The pain would subside after a short rest, and he didn't bother to see a doctor. More recently, he was helping his subordinates lift construction equipment, wanting to finish the job faster. This caused the back pain he had experienced at age 30 to return and become more severe, resulting in nerve compression on his right back, causing pain. He tried every medicine recommended, but nothing helped. At that time, he thought...

"If I really have to have surgery, and it's an open surgery, I'd rather die."

What does it feel like when you're in pain?

Mr. Sumet: The pain was so bad I could barely sleep. Sometimes, even when I was in bed, I had to adjust my sleeping position to minimize the pain.

Every movement was difficult, and my symptoms worsened about two months ago before I was admitted to S Hospital on a recommendation from an acquaintance.

Why did you decide to undergo laparoscopic surgery at S Hospital?

Mr. Sumeth: Before coming here, I went to a hospital for treatment. The doctor there recommended open surgery, which I told him I wouldn't do because I had visited my younger brother, who had the same condition of a herniated disc at another hospital and had undergone open surgery about 10 times. Now he can't have surgery anymore because his internal organs are severely damaged. That made me tell myself...

"If I really have to have surgery, and it's an open surgery, I'd rather die."

Then I researched non-surgical treatments and found S Hospital, which brings minimally invasive, less painful, and faster-recovery surgical technology from abroad to Thailand.

How did you feel on your first day visiting the doctor at S Hospital?

Dr. Sumet: On the first day I came to see the doctor, there was only one thought in my mind: "Today I must have surgery." I told the doctor that I had already had x-rays and MRIs done last month, but I didn't let him see them because I wanted to have everything checked again.

At that time, I thought it would definitely be more than before. When the test results came back, it was just as I expected. From originally only two spots, there were now three. Then the doctor explained what kind of treatment I needed. I immediately agreed and said I was ready to start treatment that day.

How significant are the differences before and after treatment?

Mr. Sumet: It's very different. Before going into surgery, I had many concerns about whether my condition would fully recover and whether I would be able to walk again, as I had researched on the hospital's website.

But when I opened my eyes, I felt that the right side of my body was no longer painful like before. Even the numbness was gone. All that remained was a tightness at the three small surgical incisions on my back.

"What happened to me wasn't a miracle, it was real. It was the skill of the doctors and the surgical equipment the hospital used in the treatment. People who have lost hope or can't walk, and who change their minds and come for treatment here, will get their bodies back completely."

I want to encourage everyone who has symptoms similar to mine to consult a doctor. I guarantee you won't be disappointed, because we will be able to live better lives and be healthier than before. Even though it's not a large hospital, the treatment effectiveness is very high.

And this hospital is a specialized spine hospital that provides direct treatment in this area.

This is what I'm confident about, and why I chose to receive treatment here.

"If I had to choose, I'd choose what they're good at. Don't suffer any longer. Come and do it." / Sumet
