"The pain is gone, it's like having a new life."

My experience with laser treatment for back pain, by Mr. Patcharapol.

Mr. Patcharapol, who suffered from a nerve compression in his spine and received treatment at S Hospital, a specialized spine hospital, recounted, "The accident happened during a motorcycle trip to Sangkhlaburi in late December 2016."

The incident happened late at night while walking down to the campsite. It was quite dark, with only a few streetlights along the path, making it difficult to see. I tripped and fell, hitting my bottom hard on the ground. It hurt a lot, and I thought it was just a normal fall, so I took some painkillers. After returning to Bangkok, I went to the doctor for a checkup, and everything was normal. I then resumed my normal life.

After two months, I suddenly experienced radiating pain and numbness down my right leg. I went back to the doctor at the social security hospital, who prescribed painkillers and muscle relaxants, but it didn't improve. I was disheartened by the fact that none of the medication helped. After researching online, I became convinced that my symptoms indicated a herniated disc. I tried various treatments, including chiropractic massage and physical therapy. The symptoms seemed to improve for a few days, but then returned. I started to feel hopeless, thinking that if I left it untreated, I might become disabled. My job also required me to stand for long periods, causing the pain to worsen progressively. It became so severe that I could barely walk 100 meters to the convenience store. While scrolling through Facebook at home, I came across an advertisement for S Hospital. I clicked on it, made an appointment, and sought their services.

After checking in with Dr. Dittapong Boonampol, one of the top orthopedic specialists in Thailand.

The doctor recommended an MRI to find the source of the pain, so I decided to have it done that day. The doctor scheduled a follow-up appointment in 3 days to discuss the results.

On the day of my MRI appointment, it was concluded that I had a ruptured intervertebral disc compressing a nerve. Surgery was the only way to recover because the doctor said my condition was quite severe, beyond what could be treated with physical therapy. He said that if left untreated, I could become disabled as the nerve damage would continue.

After the doctor's appointment, we returned home and consulted with our family about the need for surgery. We then decided to schedule the surgery date.

On the day of the surgery, the doctor instructed me to refrain from eating and drinking for 8 hours before the procedure and to rest in a hospital room until the operating time.

My feelings after the surgery: One month post-surgery, I'm feeling much better, but I need to rest and recover before I can return to normal sports activities.

I would like to thank the doctor and the team for their excellent care and hospitality from the beginning until the completion of the surgery. Thank you for giving me a new lease on life, allowing me to return to my normal life. Thank you very much, S Hospital. Anyone interested in consulting with a doctor or seeing them can visit the hospital.
