A way out of neck pain…when even witchcraft doesn't work.

"In the north, they say you've been cursed. You go to revered monks, get tattoos to ward off evil spirits, you try everything…but it still doesn't go away."
Neck, shoulder, and upper back pain is something many people overlook, but for Weerasak, it's a pain that gnaws at his life every day. Every morning he wakes up wondering how much pain he'll have. If he's lucky, he can still move, but if the pain is severe, even turning his neck is agonizing. "It's not just muscle aches; it's a pain that goes deep into the bones."
Every pain gradually accumulated, affecting both his body and mind. Even holding his child became almost impossible. At one point, he thought, "If I have to live like this forever, it would be better to die. I don't want to be a burden to my family."
I've tried all the treatments, but the pain persists.
For over 6 years, I've been working hard, delivering goods, bending over and lifting heavy objects every day. I thought I was still strong because of my age, but the excessive work has taken its toll on my body. The stiffness in my neck, shoulders, and upper back is getting worse every day.
The stiffness and pain started and spread to his jaw. Every time he opened his mouth, there was a clicking sound. It wasn't just aches anymore; every time he opened his mouth, it felt like something was pressing down. He tried to suppress the feeling, but the pain spread throughout his head.
Every possible way
He tried various treatments, including massage, acupressure, chiropractic, acupuncture, and spinal injections—everything that was supposed to work. "At first, the symptoms improved somewhat, but they soon returned."
Eventually, she started looking for alternatives to treatment. "People in the north say it might be black magic," she said, so she went to see spiritual teachers, got tattoos to ward off black magic and spirits, because she began to believe there might be something unseen. She tried every ritual, but whether the magic was driven away or not, the pain persisted.
Even though Weerasak was starting to lose hope, his family never gave up. They tried every way to find a solution to relieve his suffering until a friend recommended a specialized hospital. There, they learned what was wrong with his body. "The doctor said his intervertebral disc was herniated and pressing on a nerve, so we decided to have surgery. I didn't want to endure the pain anymore."
It's like being reborn, life after treatment.
What used to be a daily mental burden has completely disappeared. The pain that once made me feel hopeless is now a thing of the past. "Now I don't have to worry anymore. It's gone. Gone in a way that I don't even have to think that I ever had this illness."
The greatest joy is being able to hold my child in my arms again.
Thank you, Mr. Weerasak, for trusting S Hospital to take care of you.
