40 years of sitting at a desk... leading to back pain and a limp when walking.

"Sitting at work every day caused back pain. I didn't think it was a big deal. Before long, the pain radiated down my legs, causing me to unconsciously walk with a limp."
Mr. Chaiwat, a retired civil servant, has worked for over 40 years, sitting at a desk for many hours each day. Although he knows he should get up and move around occasionally, increasing workloads have gradually diminished his rest time.
His back pain began when he was 60 years old. At first, he thought it was just general aches and pains due to age, but as time went on, the pain became increasingly severe and gradually eroded his daily life.
From back pain… to walking with a limp.
Initially, he only had lower back pain that came and went. He had an X-ray because he thought there was some bone wear, but at the time, he didn't think it would be a major problem. However, the general back pain developed into radiating pain down his leg. Every time he walked, it felt like something was pulling at him, and the pain was sharp and felt like it was being pressed down on his leg.
Walking a lot causes pain, and standing for a long time is agonizing.
"At first, I thought it was just tiredness, but as time went on, the pain radiated down my legs. I couldn't walk or stand for long periods; it was like my legs had no strength. After walking for a while, I felt myself leaning unconsciously."
Her once cheerful face now looked weary, for every step was filled with pain. It wasn't just difficult to walk; even sitting still caused agony, as if something was constantly squeezing her.
Find a way out... escape from the pain.
He tried every method people suggested: taking medicine, physical therapy, wearing a back brace, acupuncture, Thai massage.
But the relief is only temporary. After some time, it comes back, and even gets worse.
The pain prompted him to search for information on social media. After consulting with doctors here and receiving answers about his condition, he found that spinal surgery was the only solution to end his suffering.
"After the doctor explained it to me, I was confident that this was the best place for me because the surgery reduces the risks and doesn't require a large incision."

A body that doesn't have to suffer.
The first day after the surgery, he slowly opened his eyes, feeling a change. The agonizing pain that had plagued him for 10 years had almost completely disappeared. His tense expression began to relax, and the weariness in his eyes was now replaced by hope.
"I can walk now, slowly but steadily. There's no more stinging pain in my legs. I know I made the right decision. Getting my life back is worth more than anything. It's truly amazing."
He not only recovered from his pain, but he also regained his freedom and a new life.
