"It's like being reborn; the pain I used to have is completely gone."

nuananong

The story of Nuananong and the crucial decision that transformed her life, overcoming pain and regaining her confidence.

When it comes to "back pain," many people might only think of minor fatigue after hard work. But for Nuananong, the back pain she experiences isn't just ordinary aches and pains; it's a gradual creeping in, disrupting her life and robbing her of daily happiness.

"Suddenly I had back pain… At first I thought it was just soreness and it would go away, but after taking medicine, it only felt better temporarily. The next morning it was even worse, and I also felt stiffness in my hips and radiating pain down my legs."

Fear that leads one to choose to “endure”.

The worsening symptoms led her to return to the doctor and undergo an MRI, which revealed she had a grade 4 herniated disc, requiring urgent surgery.

"I'm scared. I'm afraid of having surgery and not being able to walk, afraid of becoming disabled, afraid of not being able to live a normal life. I've heard that the incision is very large, that it's very painful after the surgery, and that you can't walk afterward."

Her hesitation led her to endure the pain, avoiding surgery and opting for alternative treatments. However, the pain worsened daily. It started in her back and hips, gradually radiating down her legs, disrupting her daily life.

When life forces you to make a "decision" due to pain.

The accumulated pain reached its breaking point, forcing Nuananong to find a way to escape the back pain that was stealing her happiness. "It hurt so much that my boyfriend had to support me; I couldn't walk on my own. It was so numb, like my legs weren't mine anymore."

Then one day, she found renewed hope from her younger brother, who helped her find information and a video of a patient with the same condition who had recovered from the pain. This led her to decide to consult a specialist, and this time, she received information that changed her perspective on surgery.

"At that time, all I knew was that I wanted to get better, I wanted to be able to live my life again. After listening to the doctor's explanation, I felt relieved. The doctor said that nowadays there are new techniques, using a camera to assist in surgery, resulting in smaller incisions and less pain. Everything was clear and straightforward; it wasn't major surgery like I had thought."
