"I never thought that after just one night's sleep... I could walk again."

prawit

My experience with endoscopic surgical discectomy (PSLD) for treating herniated discs, by Mr. Prawit.

Mr. Prawit experienced spinal surgery 10 years ago after falling from the top of a truck and breaking a bone. He needed over 15 days of recovery before he could walk again. That memory makes "surgery" a terrifying prospect for him.

But as time went on, and with strenuous exercise, the back pain and numbness radiating down my right leg began to interfere with my daily life. Medication and sauna treatments didn't help, and even returning to the same hospital only gave me more medication.

"Strong exercise caused my body to start to give out, and it sent warning signals periodically. I thought these symptoms were likely muscle-related. As the pain worsened and medication didn't help, I decided to consult the doctor again at the same hospital. But I just got the same medication again."

He therefore decided to search for a quick treatment because he didn't want to suffer and be unable to walk from the pain. He found S Spine and Joint Hospital, which showed him that treatment wasn't scary. Using endoscopic techniques, there was no need for major incisions; he could "recover after one night and go home."

After the MRI scan revealed that the pain was caused by a herniated disc compressing two nerves, he initially wondered if the recovery period would be as long as before if he had surgery. However, the doctor reassured him, which made him feel more confident.

Just one night changed my life... I could walk again like before.

After waking up, I thought to myself, "I'm cured."

But he still didn't dare walk or move, because the feeling from the first time made him afraid to move. However, he thought, "Let's try moving and see if it will be like the first time." When his feet touched the ground and he slowly shifted his weight to stand up, he said to himself:

"It doesn't hurt anymore. It's not like the first time I had surgery."

The happiness of being free from the pain that prevented him from walking allowed him to return to his life with the people he loved.
