A new life begins, "like a huge weight has been lifted off my back," and I can walk again.

Working hard every day might seem normal, but for 24-year-old Adikun, it became an unexpected turning point in his life.

Sitting in front of a computer for 8-9 hours a day with almost no movement not only causes general back pain, but can also become severe, radiating pain from the back down to the legs.

Unexpected pain

Adikun shared a real-life experience that he never imagined: a minor pain during his school years would become a real-life nightmare. Back then, it was just ordinary fatigue, but as he entered the workforce, it intensified until one day he woke up to find his body no longer responding.

“I woke up and couldn’t move,” Adikun recounted, his voice trembling. “The pain was like hundreds of kilograms pressing down on my back. Just turning over felt like thousands of needles piercing me. Tears streamed down my face without me realizing it, because all I could think was, ‘Am I going to have to live like this for the rest of my life?’”

The search for a cure.

After trying various treatments, including medication and physical therapy, but nothing relieved his pain, "Sometimes I would sit and stare at the ceiling and think, 'Is life going to be like this forever?' I just wanted to get back to living a normal life." These thoughts pushed him to seek a new solution.

Treatment with PSLD technique.

After a thorough diagnosis, the medical team determined that a herniated disc was the primary cause of the symptoms. They recommended Percutaneous Stenoscopic Lumbar Decompression (PSLD), a minimally invasive endoscopic surgical technique that minimizes injury and promotes faster recovery.

"At first I was very scared, not knowing what this kind of surgery would be like. But the medical team explained everything in detail. I will be free from this pain. This surgery will help me get back to my normal life."

"It was like a huge weight was lifted off my back." I was able to walk around in just one day.

Mr. Adikun woke up with a smile, free from the pain that had plagued his life. His first feeling after surgery for a herniated disc was, "It was like a huge weight had been lifted off my back. I couldn't believe that when I woke up, the radiating pain down my leg was completely gone. At that moment, I only thought, 'I'm really cured!' I was able to walk within a day. There was no more agonizing pain. Looking around and seeing the faces of the medical team and my family beside me made me feel like, 'I've got my life back.'"

Mr. Adikun also shared a message for those facing similar problems: "The right treatment can change everything. I am grateful to all the doctors who helped me get back on my feet again."
