The spine: its importance and care.

The importance of the spine.
The spine does not only help keep the body upright, but also plays other important roles, such as:
It aids in movement: it allows us to bend, straighten, and twist our bodies.
Protecting the spinal cord: This is a vital part of the nervous system.
Blood cell production: The bone marrow inside the spinal cord produces blood cells that are essential for the body.
Calcium storage: Serves as the body's calcium reserve.

The structure of the spine.
The spine is divided into four sections.
Neck section (Cervical): 7 pieces (C1-C7)
Thoracic section: 12 pieces (T1-T12)
Waist (Lumbar): 5 pieces (L1-L5)
Sacral and Coccyx: 5 pieces (fused into one)
Between each vertebra, there is an intervertebral disc that absorbs shock and allows the spine to move smoothly.
Common problems related to the spine.
As we age or due to improper use, various problems may occur, such as:
Degenerative disc disease: Reduces the ability to absorb shock.
Spinal degeneration: May cause abnormal movement.
Herniated disc: Causes radiating pain down the arm or leg.
Bone spurs: These can compress nerves and cause pain.
